- The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) today welcomed a federal jury’s decision to convict a man on gun possession charges in connection with the crash that tragically claimed the lives of five young Somali women in Minneapolis a year ago.
“We welcome the jury’s decision to convict in this tragic case,” said Jaylani Hussein, CAIR-MN’s executive director. “The loss of these five young women has left a deep wound in our community, and while no verdict can bring them back, this is a significant moment in the pursuit of justice.”
CAIR-MN continues to stand in solidarity with the victims’ families and calls for ongoing efforts to promote community safety and accountability
