The “CA vs. Hate” campaign is a comprehensive initiative launched to combat hate incidents across California, offering a critical resource line that serves as a reporting and support mechanism. This resource line is a cornerstone of the campaign, providing a means for individuals to report hate incidents and access various forms of assistance. It operates with the capacity to handle reports in over 200 languages, including Amharic, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Hindi, Hmong, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Persian-Farsi, Punjabi, Spanish, Swahili, Tagalog, and Vietnamese, making it highly accessible to California’s diverse population.

Victims of hate incidents can contact the hotline at 1-833-8NO-HATE or visit the website at https://www.cavshate.org/ to report hate incidents, seek counseling, and obtain support. The service extends beyond mere reporting; it provides counseling, support, and outreach to affected individuals and communities, facilitating healing and education on prevention and response strategies.

The primary objectives of the “CA vs. Hate” initiative are to assist individuals and communities targeted by hate, guide them through possible actions following a hate incident, connect them with culturally competent resources and coordinated care, and enhance the reporting and data collection on hate incidents to improve preventive measures and responses.
