Al Enteshar’s Productive Engagement at the Ethnic Media Awards Conference
Published on August 29, 2024
Al Enteshar Newspaper marked a significant presence at this year’s Ethnic Media Awards Conference, held on August 27-28, with a dedicated ‘Stop Hate Together’ booth. This booth served as a beacon for our ongoing initiative aimed at combatting hate crimes and fostering a more inclusive society.
The conference, which brought together professionals from various ethnic media outlets, provided the perfect setting for Al Enteshar to share the impactful work of the ‘Stop Hate Together’ initiative. Over the course of two days, our team engaged in meaningful conversations with attendees, discussing the critical need for solidarity and action against discrimination.
Our booth was a hub of activity, where we successfully distributed files and resources to over 200 individuals. These materials were designed not just to inform but also to empower journalists and media professionals with the tools needed to report on and support victims of hate crimes. The resources included educational pamphlets, contacts for legal and psychological support services, and guidelines on responsibly covering hate-related incidents.
The opportunity to resource share and educate a diverse group of attendees about our initiative’s work was invaluable. We were able to broaden our network, gaining new partners and collaborators who are equally committed to stopping hate in its tracks. The interactions we had underscored the importance of media’s role in shaping public perception and the collective effort required to challenge and change narratives around hate crimes.
This engagement at the Ethnic Media Awards Conference has not only expanded our outreach but has also reinforced the urgency of our mission. Together with our partners and the support of the broader media community, Al Enteshar is poised to continue making strides in our fight against hate.
